Special Health Resources for Texas, Inc. is committed to delivering comprehensive physical and mental health care of the highest standards to 23 East Texas counties in the most accessible and affordable methods.
Programs offered include:
ADOLESCENT TREATMENT SERVICES - Youth ages 13-17, which are diagnosed with a substance abuse disorder, participate in substance abuse treatment at the level that is most appropriate for each person. Families are encouraged to participate in the family session on a weekly basis. youth admitted into the program receive substance abuse education, group process, and individual counseling.
CHAMPS (Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Minority Prevention Services) - Prevention Services for Substance Abuse, HIV, and Hepatitis C - Serving Gregg & Smith Counties - The CHAMPS program serves adolescents 12-19 to reduce and prevent substance abuse and unsafe behaviors that lead to HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C.
CRCS (Comprehensive Risk Counseling Service) - This program was developed to give individuals the skills and education needed to maintain their negative status. The program consists of 7 or more one-on-one sessions with a prevention case manager to discuss reduction activities.
GAALS (Gorgeous African American Latino Sisters) - Provides prevention and education to women (only) ages 18-55 to prevent substance use and the spread of STD's.
HIV/Prevention Services - These programs are designed to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases (STD's) through education, testing and risk reduction activities.
OUTREACH SERVICES - The goal is to increase oppurtunity for behavior change to active substance abusers and their partners at risk for communicable diseases, reducing or eliminating the potential for infection.
PERINATAL PROGRAM - Specialized case management services for HIV positive females that are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or of childbearing age with high risk behaviors.
